Meet the winner of our “Gift to the World” Scholarship!

We’re delighted to announce the winner of our “Gift to the World” Scholarship: Brittney Burns.
Brittney Burns loves using both the left and right sides of her brain - the high school senior sings, dances, acts, AND loves engineering. But it’s when we ask her about her volunteer trip to the Dominican Republic that she really lights up. “We interviewed a group of women about what neighborhood project they would most like completed, and they told us it was the playground,” she says, describing how she and her group of fellow Global Glimpse teens refurbished a local playground and built a gazebo for the community in the middle of the park.
Brittney heads off to college this fall, and we’re thrilled to help support her dream of becoming a biomedical engineer.
Check out her video to hear Brittney’s story in her own words!

Michael has spent countless hours helping others, and wanted to find a career that would allow him to continue to help people while utilizing his expertise in math and science.

Meet the winner of our “Best Summer Ever” Scholarship!

We’re delighted to announce the winner of our “Best Summer Ever” Scholarship: Anisa Siddikova.
Anisa truly exemplifies grit and determination. She moved to the U.S. from Tajikistan when she was 9 years old, after being separated from her mom for years. They were finally reunited, but some things were still hard. Anisa didn’t speak any English at first, so school was extremely challenging and her grades suffered. But she worked hard, improved her grades, and discovered both a passion and a unique talent for microbiology. Anisa has just started 9th grade at Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences in Brooklyn, NY. After school and on weekends, she’s getting valuable lab experience by studying alongside a microbiology professor at Long Island University. Anisa dreams of getting a medical degree and then working for the CDC, curing infectious diseases.
We’re excited to introduce this exceptional young woman, and honored to help her reach her dreams.
