Whew, 2020 was a difficult year! Despite the challenges, sophomore Kaushik Srikrishnan from Chapel Hill, North Carolina continued to serve his community and pursue his academic goals.

We are thrilled to announce Kaushik as the winner of our “No Sweat” Scholarship for December 2020!

Born and raised in Southern India, Kaushik moved to the United States at the age of nine. With the support and dedication of his parents, he was able to explore his passions and grow as a student. According to his counselor at Chapel Hill High School, he is enrolled in both Advanced Placement (AP) and honors courses that are above his grade level.

The work doesn’t stop inside of the classroom. Kaushik is an avid science Olympiad enthusiast, receiving many laurels from participating in regional engineering competitions. Hands-on building and problem solving quickly became his passion一sparking his interest in Biomedical Engineering. 

“It’s the perfect blend of engineering and biomedical sciences, which is a great way to help people!” 

Kaushik has a broad range of interests. He is pursuing biomedical engineering while also volunteering at his local YMCA. In addition, he serves as the president of his school’s Origami Club and enjoys performing arts. He has choreographed and performed dances at several cultural events.

Kaushik uses his Cirkled In portfolio to keep track of his activities and to search for colleges that fit his needs. Through exploring, he hopes to pursue Biomedical Engineering at UNC, NC State, or Duke!
