Meet Ian Blom, our July 2019 “No Sweat” Scholarship Winner!

We’re delighted to announce the latest winner of our “No Sweat Scholarship: Ian Blom”.
Ian is a brilliant young man who is creative, empathetic and ambitious. In addition to being a great academically, Ian does dance, plays soccer and Tennis, works part time in a restaurant and is also ASB Vice president for his school. Ian wants to pursue Film Production as a career.
Senior Ian Blom is a dynamic student who thrives from creativity. With plans to pursue film production, Ian channels his creative mind toward dance, community activities and film projects.
Currently a senior at Willow Glen High School, he serves as Vice President of ASB (Associated Student Body). He aims to increase student involvement and create a positive atmosphere on campus.While school is his priority, dance, community involvement and film production are passions that propel him forward.
Ian’s passion for dance stemmed from his love for the television show, Dancing With the Stars. As he trains in Latin and Standard Ballroom styles, Ian finds it life-affirming to tell his story through dance. While on the floor, dancing has become one of his greatest therapies, as it gives him the opportunity to clear his thoughts and be present with the movement!

Outside of dance, Ian dedicates his time to his community and school. Among activities such as Bible Camp, tennis, soccer, baseball, he is proud of his work-ethic not only for himself, but also for the teams he’s a part of. Rightfully, he’s been awarded Most Inspirational by his teammates.

However, Ian’s accomplishments don’t stop on the dance floor or field! He also enjoys part-time work at a local restaurant cooking and bussing tables. Regardless of the task at hand, Ian stays dedicated and keeps a smile on his face.
In school, Ian keeps his creativity flowing by producing films for the student body. He hopes to pursue a career in film production and plans to use the “No Sweat” Scholarship to buy better film equipment to improve his videos. He also wants to use video work to build a creative college profile because his dream is to attend a film school in Southern California.
