Ace Your Profile: with Internships and Work Experience on Cirkled In (Video 8 of 10)

By Peter M on April 26, 2023 Updated: October 9, 2026

Cirkled In Profile: Adding an Internship or Work Experience

Hooray! We are in our final category of professional profile! With this, we are ready to showcase ourselves professionally and holistically.

And now it’s time to talk about something that can really set you apart from the rest – internships and work experience. Any work experience not only helps you gain industry experience but also sets you apart in front of colleges.

Internships are an excellent way to gain practical experience in your field of interest and demonstrate to colleges that you are committed to learning and growing outside of the classroom. By including your internship experience in your college application profile, you are showcasing your dedication to your academic and career goals.

Not surprising that over 52% of students work almost half-time during high school or college. That’s right, and it’s an impressive statistic that you should be proud of.

With Cirkled In, you can easily showcase all your hard work in the Internships and Work Experience. Here’s where you can add everything from your unpaid internships to your paid jobs, like being a babysitter, tutor, or even a lifeguard.

You can watch this 5-minute video here or follow the steps listed below.

If you do not have an account already, you can create one for free at www.cirkledin.com.

Step 1:  Showcase your Real Life Experience through Internships and Work

Firstly, go to your edit profile on the left navigation bar and click on the Internships and Work Experiences section. This click will take you to this category.

Pro Tip: Clarifying the Difference Between Volunteering, Interning, and Working

Now, we get asked this question quite a bit, so let’s clear things up – volunteering is usually with non-profit organizations, while internships and work experience are usually with for-profit organizations. Got it?

Step 2:  Adding Your Internship or Work Experience to Your Profile – It’s Easy and Simple!

So, just like any other category, you can enter your work experience by clicking “Add” and filling out the form that pops up.

Step 3: Filling in the Details

Here, you can enter the position, name of the organization, state, city, and work hours. And speaking of work hours, you can choose to enter them on a daily, weekly, monthly, or total basis.

Step 4: Highlight Your Recognition:

But that’s not all! You can also include any recognition you received during your internship or job, a summary of your experience, and external links and attachments to showcase your skills and accomplishments.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so don’t forget to upload one that highlights your work experience.
